Using FCB1010 Manager with 2 FCB1010’s

Hi, I decided to purchase a 2nd FCB1010 because I have more than 16 MIDI devices and have decided to setup a 2nd FCB1010 to help manage some of the other devices. Is FCB1010 capable of recognizing and dealing with more than one FCB1010 connected to the same computer or will I need to enable them one at a time?

TIA, -al

FCB1010 Manager can only work with one FCB1010 at any particular time.

However, FCB1010 Manager allows you to save as many "setups" as you want, via the Setup submenu within the File pulldown menu.
Among other things, a "setup" consists of the current MIDI port definitions (presumably linking to a particular FCB1010), the currently open FCB1010 syx file, and FBC1010 Manager's window positions.

So you can create setup files for each of your FCB1010s, and then make FCB1010 Manager switch between them by opening these setup files.
The only limitation is that opening a setup file actually makes FCB1010 Manager restart itself, thereby losing all the data on its internal clipboards. So you can't exchange FCB1010 data (such as presets) between different FCB1010s this way; that can only be done by saving and opening FCB1010 syx files.

You can even create multiple shortcuts on your desktop, each shortcut opening a new instance of FCB1010 Manager using the specific setup mentioned in the shortcut's command line; see section 6 of the FCB1010 Manager manual for how to do this.
Thus you can have multiple instances of FCB1010 Manager running simultaneously, each linked to a particular FCB1010. (Though again, you can't exchange FCB1010 data between different instances of FCB1010 Manager.)

Hope this helps,
   Mark.
