after configuring the midi in / out ports
when wanting to receive the data of the R8 it does not manage to pass of 13% I am using the midisport 2x2 any ideas?
You are talking about the MIDI -> Receive operation from R-8 Manager's "R-8" window?
This operation opens a dialog box called "Receive data from R-8".
This dialog box shows "Areas received: number".
This number does not indicate a percentage, but indeed the number of areas that have been received.
There are 110 areas: the first nine are "setup" areas (sound, copy sound, performance, feel patch etc.), the tenth is the song area (containing all 10 songs), and areas 11-110 are the 100 patterns.
So if the display gets stuck at 13, there is a problem with pattern 4.
But I can't reproduce your problem, so I have no idea what the cause is.
Maybe your MIDI interface can't handle the big amount of data? Does your pattern 4 contain many notes?
It may help to monitor the messages received by R-8 Manager via the "MIDI input messages" window, which you can open from the main window via View -> MIDI -> "Input messages".
In this window you first have to uncheck "System Real-time", to avoid seeing the F8 messages that the R-8 sends continuously.
Then you can press Record.
If you then execute MIDI -> Receive from the R-8 window, the messages received from the R-8 are shown in the "MIDI input messages" window; maybe this will tell you something.
Beware: certain R-8 areas consist of multiple System Exclusive messages, so there is not a one-to-one correspondence between the area number in the "Receive data from R-8" dialog box and the number in the "No." column in the "MIDI input messages" window.
The first pattern's first message starts with F0 41 Device 28 12 02 00 00 00, where Device is the R-8's Receive Channel of the Instrument Section minus 1.
An empty pattern has a single System Exclusive message of length 49.
What is the last received System Exclusive message that you see?
hello, I could already receive the data, the problem was in some corrupt pattern in the memory of the r8, I deleted the patterns and that solved the problem, great editor, really makes things easier, thanks

Hope this helps,

Hi Frank, one question, are the feeling patches not working in song mode? I have always used the r8 in pattern mode
As far as I know, the feel patches also work in song mode.
Why would a feel patch defined in a pattern not work when that pattern is used in a song?
I'm sorry, I meant Mark
when I order patterns in song mode when playing plays without the feeling patch
