Changing presets in Guitar Rig 5

Hi,

I decided to use my FCB1010 as follows with Guitar Rig 5. I want one pedal to move to the next preset in my custom list of presets and one pedal to move to the previous one. I want the other pedals to function as on/off for a certain effect within a preset.

I'm able to do the latter. But I don't know how to program a pedal to move forward/backward through a list of presets ? Does it have something to do with CC 32 ?

I could use some help here.

Thanks !

Of course it would be best if the FCB1010 itself offered this facility, by remembering the number of the last program number it sent via a Program Change message. But unfortunately it doesn't.

CC 32 is "Bank Select LSB" and is related to CC 0 ("Bank Select (MSB)"). These are about program banks (typically used on synthesizers), not the program numbers used in Program Change messages. And besides, CC 0 and 32 only send fixed numbers, not "next" or "previous".

The closest thing to what you want (that I can think of) are CC 96 "Data Entry +1 (Increment)" and CC 97 "Data Entry -1 (Decrement)".
But it totally depends on the receiving device (Guitar Rig 5 in your case) what it does when it receives such a message.
I suppose these messages are normally meant to change the value of a particular sound parameter, not a program number, but who knows.

Hope this helps,
   Mark.

I tried programming CC 96, but all it does is switching to preset 96, so I must be doing something wrong...

Okay, I finally did it ! :) I used midi notes instead of CC's (I saw this in this article https://el34world.com/Misc/Music/FCB_5.htm).

So with pedal 9 I send midi note 120 and in GR I assign midi note 120 to the next preset.
And pedal 10 is configured to send midi note 121, which is set up in GR to go to the previous preset.

I thought it would be useful to share my solution in case someone else wants to do the same thing as I did.
