Hi,

I wrote the DW6K template.

What seems to be the problem?

Can you get the BCR to change anything?

Can you change a parameter with, say, a DAW or other controller to show that the DW6k is setup correctly?

Page 67 of the manual shows how to enable "All Midi" data which is needed for the System Exclusive messages to get through.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi Royce, I have make it work with the program, but I can´t make it work only with BCR and DW6000. I send the template by MIDIOX, and with the program with BCR on U3 mode, goes fine, but once I disconnect the usb connection, and put the S4 mode, the DW6000 doesn´t respond to BCR.

Thanks for your help.

Antonio.

I have made work the first version of the korg DW6000 you have in your web page. But the version which came with the program is impossible for me do it work alone with BCR without PC. Thanks for your help.

Hi Antonio,

The DW6k and the DW8K were made at a time when memory was very expensive.

So instead of one byte of data for each parameter (the BCR / BCF copes with this perfectly) Korg packed some pairs of parameters together into single bytes.

There is no way we have found for the BCR to cope with two encoders or switches needing to send a sysex parameter with packed data.

Changing one control will usually spoil the other parameter.

To get over this I put a PC in between the BCR and the DW.

That way the BCR can just send CC messages and the PC converts it to DW sysex (some with the necessary packed data) and sends it to the DW.

I also detect if you have pressed a Patch change on the DW and then request the new patch data from the DW.

With that data I can now send lots of CC messages to the BCR to keep it in sync.

The whole setup needs the "man in the middle" PC program to work.

All the best

Royce
