Hi everyone.

New here. New to the manager and pretty new to the Bcr 2000.

I use it it through my Motu Mtp Av multiport interface, along with all my synths, in a simple midi standalone connection. Firmware 1.10.

I just don’t use usb connection if i don’t need them even if i have several usb ports, to avoid driver issues etc.

The problem is that the manager shows that my connections are prone to loops and indeed loops happen. So how could i avoid them? Any filter? I have to say that my bcr outputs a continuous note on message when i check it on midi ox monitor.

Also accordung to the manual a connection of mode s4 on out 2 is preferable for standalone application, but on mode s4 only out 1 is recognized by the manager and on s3 only out 2. I guess a typo, or an issue with my bcr?

Any advice will be much appreciated.

For a start, in the "MIDI devices" dialog box of BC Manager (accessible via the View pulldown menu of the main window) you should disable as many MIDI In and Out devices as you can, and "Thru output/input device" should be "[None]" for all devices. For the purpose of configuring a BCR, BC Manager only needs the MIDI Out device connected to the BCR's MIDI In, and the MIDI In device connected to the pertinent BCR's MIDI Out (A or B, depending on the BCR's operating mode).

But of course BC Manager can't undo any feedback loops existing in your hardware setup.
For instance, some of the BCR's U/S operating modes can cause undesired loops, so you may want to look at the diagrams for the operating modes in the official Behringer BCF/R2000 manual, or the diagrams in the "Global setup" dialog box in BC Manager (accessible via the "Global setups" window).
Apart from that, your MIDI interface or even your synths could cause feedback loops. For instance, any socket that says "MIDI Thru" could be a culprit.

This definitely shouldn't happen; it strongly suggests the existence of a feedback loop. What's this Note On message exactly? Is it always the same (channel, note number and velocity)? And can you determine which device is the original source of this message?

Thanks for the advice Mark. Obviously it was a midi out cable that went a bit wrong. Easy fix. On the other hand Motu MTP is very very capable as a multiport midi itnterface / midi patchbay so it needs a bit of workaround on certain things. A

Of course not using the soft midi thru is really important.Also the way the values are transmited (transmission speed and value data rate) are quite important for some synths.

So far so good. I guess it's a matter of familiarization with the software. Still very new to the manager.
