Hi,
thanks for the great work!
I'm currently programming 4 (multi page) presets for the BCR2000 and really like the SW+HW.
(Except for some very few minor drawbacks, but let's not get into that now)
I came across the BCD2000 lately and since it looks like the third twin of the family, could that be supported by BC Manager as well?
Usually it is much cheaper than the BCF and BCR (often less than 50€) and has a decent amount of controls. Some audio related stuff would be wasted (or could still be used, who knows).
So what do you think? Or did you even have a look at it?
regards
I didn't know about the BCD2000 (or if I ever did, I'd forgotten about it ).
(Incidentally, I did find a saved Behringer webpage in my archive about another sibling, the BCA2000, described as a "B-CONTROL AUDIO BCA2000 High-Speed USB 2.0 Multi-Channel Audio/MIDI Control Interface with ADAT® Support, Surround Outputs and Extensive Monitor Control Section".)
Anyway, it seems unlikely that BC Manager would be easily applicable to the BCD2000.
BC Manager programs the BCF2000 and BCR2000 via "BCL", a control language unique to the BCF and BCR, embedded in MIDI System Exclusive messages.
However, even the BCN44 (a kind of mini-BCR2000) doesn't use BCL, as I discovered to my surprise when someone asked me to write an editor for it abt. 10 years ago.
So I doubt very much whether the BCD2000 uses BCL. And if it doesn't, there isn't anything specific that BC Manager has to offer: one would simply have to write an editor for the BCD2000 from scratch (as I had to do for the BCN44).
But even if the BCD2000 does use BCL, I simply don't have the time or desire to write an editor for it.
Best regards,
Mark.
Thanks for your reply.
I came across the BCA2000 today as well. I also noticed an updated version of the BCD2000 a BCD3000 (from around 2009)
Just to close this thread: The BCD2000 sends plain CC and Note messages. So - as long as you get MIDI over USB working - you could easily map this to a desired funtion.
