I am very glad that I stumbled upon this site / to find out that there are still ppl interested in both XG Midi as well as QS voices.
The first question I had I think I already found an answer to in the FAQ on the main page, regarding which would be the oldest supported OS for these Apps. Apparently it is Win2k/XP. Due to the fact that I have a SW60XG residing in an older computer that operates under Win98, 2k and XP, I was wondering whether the XG Manager would run on that machine.
As for the devices that are compatible with the QS300 mode of the XG Manager I found the DB50, SW60 and MU10 listed. I was wondering, would the QY700 also be compatible, as it is compatible with the QS300 voices? (iirc it is compatible with the QS300 voices, but not the "patterns", etc.)
The reason I am asking is because it would save me some space / work, not having to integrate the old computer hosting the SW60 ISA card into the studio and being able to use the QY700 instead.
Another big point of interest for me would be the list of QS voices that are integrated into XG Manager via your QS300 database. I remember back then, a program called XG-Gold enabled one to access the 3- and 4-layered voices of the QS300-Mode on the SW60, but I was never able to register aforementioned software as the author as well as the program's webpages have long vanished from the internet. Is there a list of voices available that are inside the QS300 database utilizedby / available via the XG Manager?
Thank you in advance for your help, I am looking forward to staying a member of this community.
